Bãi Dài and Gành Dầu, the Vinpearl Golf end

Bãi Dài (Bai Dai) and Gành Dầu (Ganh Dau) sit on the north-west tip of Phu Quoc, facing the Gulf of Thailand with the national park forest behind them. Ganh Dau was a commune until 1 July 2025, when it merged into the Phu Quoc special zone of An Giang province. The area is now dominated by Vinpearl-branded attractions, Vinpearl Golf, VinWonders, Vinpearl Safari and Grand World, with beach hotels along Bai Dai.

That has two consequences for a golfer. The first tee at Vinpearl Golf is a short transfer from most hotels on this stretch, so a 06:30 tee time does not mean a 05:00 alarm. And the evenings are resort evenings: hotel restaurants, Grand World's shows, or a 25 km drive to Duong Dong for the night market. If you want to walk out of the hotel to a row of independent restaurants, this is the wrong end of the island.

The beach itself is the reason many people come. Bai Dai has more than 1.5 km of white sand, and Ganh Dau, at the very tip, sits next to the Rach Vem fishing village. In the dry season the north-east monsoon keeps this coast calm.

Three nights is the minimum for two rounds without a rush: the arrival day, two golf mornings and the flight out on day four. Fewer nights mean playing on the morning you land or the morning you leave, which depends on flight times and leaves no fallback if lightning stops a round.

Four nights suits three rounds, or two rounds plus a day at VinWonders or the safari. Beyond five nights, most golfers want either more variety than one course or a change of beach; that is why our six-night package moves to Long Beach for the second half.

From Phu Quoc International Airport the drive to the Bai Dai area is about 30 to 32 km, 40 to 50 minutes, via the Cua Can – Ganh Dau road, Hung Vuong and provincial road 47. Our packages include a private car. Without one, airport taxis (Mai Linh, Vinasun and others), Grab and Green SM electric taxis all operate on the island.

The free VinBus route 17 runs between the airport and Grand World, every 15 to 60 minutes, for holders of a VinWonders, Vinpearl Safari or Grand World ticket. It is useful for non-golfers; with golf bags, a car is simpler. From Duong Dong the public bus to Ganh Dau takes about 50 to 70 minutes.

• You only want Eschuri. Vung Bau is the closer base for it.
• You want to walk to independent restaurants and bars every evening. Duong Dong is about 25 km away.
• You are coming from July to September mainly for the beach. The west coast is at its roughest then.
• Your party has no interest in golf, theme parks or a safari. Much of what is here is built around those.

The three nights, two rounds package with Vinpearl as the course puts you here for all three nights. The four-night, three-round package can base here too, with a short drive south to Eschuri. The golf and beach package spends its first three nights here before moving to Long Beach.
