Vũng Bầu and Cửa Cạn, Eschuri's coast

Vũng Bầu (Vung Bau) is a crescent-shaped beach between Ong Lang to the south and Bai Dai to the north. Cửa Cạn (Cua Can) is the river mouth and sandbar a little inland, and the name of the former commune that covered much of this coast before the 2025 merger into the Phu Quoc special zone. The golf course's official address is in Cua Can.

Compared with Bai Dai, the development here is lower and more spread out: villa resorts set back from the sand, a golf course, and forest behind. Fusion Resort Phu Quoc on Vung Bau has 97 thatched pool villas and an all-inclusive spa concept with daily treatments; it soft-opened in 2017. Ong Lang, just south, has Chen Sea Resort and Spa with 36 villas and Mango Bay, an eco-minded bungalow resort.

It is a quieter base, and a practical one: Eschuri is on the doorstep and Vinpearl Golf is further up the same coast, so a golfer playing both courses does not need to change hotels.

An Giang province has approved a zoning plan for 1,171.27 ha on the north-west coast of Phu Quoc, under Decision 3429/QĐ-UBND, with a tourism zone of 1,100.59 ha that sets aside 144.28 ha for golf course land. The zone borders the Bai Ong Lang – Cua Can sub-zone. The press report mentions no construction and no investor.

A property-sales site also says about five golf courses are in planning on the island, without naming them. Until a course has a name, an opening date and a tee sheet, we treat it as planned and do not sell it.

The same island calendar applies: December to March is dry, with 27 to 61 mm of rain a month; April is the hottest month; May to October brings 281 to 486 mm a month and 19 to 24 rain days. Vung Bau faces west, so in the south-west monsoon its sea is rougher and less clear, and Chen Sea, for example, suspends its free non-motorised water sports from May to October.

For golf, Eschuri's own page says the dry season brings sunsets for afternoon rounds and the rainy season misty forest and cooler air. A reseller's guide suggests 06:00 to 08:00 and 15:30 to 17:30 as the pleasant windows. Its December 2025 reference prices split weekday and weekend, not seasons.

• You want a full driving range next to your hotel. Eschuri has chipping and putting areas; the range named at launch appears, from its name, to be in the south.
• You want nightlife or a town within walking distance.
• You are travelling in the wet months mainly for swimming. West-facing bays are rougher then.
• You need fixed Eschuri prices months in advance; public rates are reference figures and packages change.
