The card is evenly split: two par 3s and two par 5s on each nine. The stroke index puts the hardest holes early in each half, the sixth on the front and the twelfth on the back, both par 4s, while the par-4 sixteenth is rated the easiest hole on the course. Golfers who start well have the chance to build a cushion before the closing stretch, which includes a par 5 at 17 and a par 4 at 18 rated fourth-hardest.

Some golf travel listings still call Vinpearl a 27-hole course of 7,306 yards, and one source said it had been open since 2014. The club's current page shows the 18-hole card above, and its 2026 rate sheet prices 27 and 36 holes as multiples of 18. We treat Vinpearl as an 18-hole course and say so in every quote.

Eschuri Vung Bau, tee by tee

Blue6,51972.5 / 140—
White5,97669.3 / 13575.3 / 134
Red5,208—70.9 / 126

These ratings come from a course listing, not from the club. They show a course that is long and demanding from the back, with a slope of 149, and much more manageable from the white tees at under 6,000 yards. For most visiting club golfers the blue or white tees are the honest choice, especially on the exposed back nine.

The club's own description is consistent with that: a links-style course, forest on the way out, Vung Bau beach on the way back, waste bunkers rather than manicured sand, and the 14th aimed at the horizon. It also lists night golf under floodlights, which neither the club nor any source we found has priced or timed.

How they play differently

V

Vinpearl: a tree-lined test

Shorter at 7,038 yards, framed by forest, balanced 36 – 36. Accuracy off the tee and iron play into paspalum greens matter more than length.

E

Eschuri: two courses in one

Longer at 7,508 yards from the black tees, forest out and beach back. Wind on the inward nine and waste bunkers change club selection.

+

Playing both

The contrast is the reason to play both on one trip. Our four-night package plays them on consecutive days and lets you replay the one you preferred.

Both courses sit on the same coast with the same climate, so the season affects them equally. The difference in conditions comes from exposure: under forest on most Vinpearl holes, open to the sea on Eschuri's back nine.

On paper Eschuri is the more expensive course, but the comparison depends on where you stay and when. A Sun Group resort guest at Eschuri with the full advertised discount could pay less than a visitor at Vinpearl on a peak weekend. We work out the actual numbers for your dates. Planned courses, and what is not yet real

An approved provincial zoning plan for the north-west coast, Decision 3429/QĐ-UBND, sets aside 144.28 ha of golf course land in a tourism zone of 1,100.59 ha next to the Bai Ong Lang – Cua Can sub-zone. As of the July 2026 press report there was no named investor and no construction.

A property-sales site writes that about five golf courses are in planning on Phu Quoc and that Bai Sao, Bai Thom and Bai Vong suit future courses, but names no project. On this site, any course other than Vinpearl Golf and Eschuri Vung Bau is planned, not playable.

Which course for which golfer

  • First time on the island, one course only: Vinpearl, for the range, the published inclusive rate and the shorter drive from Bai Dai hotels.
  • Low handicap, likes a challenge: Eschuri from the yellow or black tees.
  • Higher handicap or a mixed four: either, but at Eschuri choose the white tees.
  • Junior golfers: Vinpearl publishes a junior rate for under-18s, from VND 1,150,000 in the low season.
  • Want both: four nights, three rounds.

Common questions

Questions travellers ask most

Is Vinpearl Golf 18 or 27 holes?

The club's own page shows 18 holes, par 72, 7,038 yards. Older travel listings mention 27 holes; the club's 27-hole price is simply 1.5 times the 18-hole rate.

Which course is harder?

By length and listed slope, Eschuri from the back tees: 7,508 yards and slope 149. Vinpearl is shorter but tree-lined, so stray drives are punished in a different way.

Are there other courses on the island?

Not operating. A zoning plan reserves land for golf on the north-west coast, but no course has been named or built.

Do both courses use carts?

Vinpearl requires every player to use a cart. Eschuri's launch fee included half a buggy; we confirm its current cart terms for your date.
